This is way too cool. I’ll just let the person that sent this to me introduce it..
From CC365 fan Jacopo Ghioldi :
“I’m writing to suggest you to give a try to one of the few Italian CC musicians that I know and like (I don’t think there are too many yet here): his name’s Bacco Baccanels.
He plays music just using his voice as the only instrument. But that’s not “a cappella” nor anything too experimental (if not in the way the music’s made) since he plays very melodic “whistable” tunes. He calls it “musicooking” (”musicucina” in Italian) and I don’t thnk there are many other people doing something like that: i know a group called Bauchklang, but they’re many, not just one, and their voices are heavily filtered. Bacco’s approach is very “back to basics” and almost no effects are used in the songs.
Recently he made an album that was released by WMRecordings, but is available also on his website that is baccobaccanels.com
I like him very much, and the fact that a Dutch netlabel decided to publish it makes me think that he may be digable even if you don’t understand Italian (the website has an English version though). I want to point out that I’m just a fan (probably his only Fan; ),I’m not spamming you or trying to promote my brother or something,( it wouldn’t make much sense anyway…) it’s just that I really like what he does and I’d like to “share him”, but in Italy there are apparently no websites who are interested in telling about his existence…”
I recently talked in a few interviews about how I think the most important thing about ‘giving away’ music is that artists develop fans that promote them for no other reason but that they like the music. That kind of pro-active evangilizing fan is the only kind of evangilist I wanna hear from. So, if you have something you like, send it in.
Thanks goes to Jacopo. I’ll should also note, I picked a song in english in hopes that you, the listener, will go check out the other italian language songs.. It’s all really good.

Currently listening to the album. I love it. I find that this sort of thing is easily just a gimmick, but Bacco Baccanels succeeds in using only his voice to create genuinely good music. With a certain bounce-around-in-your-seat quality. Very well recommended Jacopo, thanks! And cheers to Grant for making it so easy to find good new commons music!
