Day 50 : Suerte - Sieste ocho

February 19th, 2006 by Grant Robertson

Hey kids, it’s time for Sunday jazz again. Give me some good swinging slap bass and a smooth horn any day, and I’m a happy man. Suerte delivers.

Also, Suerte means luck in Spanish. So, here’s to luck for this week.

Mellow and soulful, if this doesn’t make you groove you might want to seek medical attention.

I can’t find much in english (or French for that matter) about Suerte (Spanish name, but minimal blog in French, I’m totally confused.. it’s not just you) but, the music speaks for itself.

Check out Suerte on Jamendo.

Click to download this whole album via bittorrent.

Just in case y’all didn’t know yet, I’m listening to this through Google Reader, and it plays at double speed for some unknown reason (probably related to Google’s internal media player) If you have a way to address this, I would greatly appreciate it!

    Nathan,
That’s a bug in Flash. All flash mp3 players have a bug that causes files that aren’t recorded at 11.025, 22.050 or 44.1khz to play at the wrong speed. Jamendo’s files are all in 24khz so, thus have a bit of an issue. This is the only reason I don’t have a built in player on the page.

Frankly, I wish Jamendo would fix this on their end.. but, that’s not my call. My only option would be to re-encode each file used from jamendo and, that’s a bit too much labor.

Sorry for any inconvenience, but the files should work fine in most other mp3 player implementations.
