This is a little off of the CC:365 beaten path, but I think someone out there is going to love this song. And, isn’t that what this is all about?
James Hurst makes meloncholy, quiet Alt/Folk/Rock that cold easily grow on a person. This is my favorite track from his 4 song EP, “Spread The News, All is Well, Be Affraid”.
From Jamendo:
“James was discovered and thrown screaming into the pop music industry at the age of 15, as the guitarist for 90’s tv pop guinea pigs ‘North & South’. Despite chart hits and succesful tours in Europe and the UK, the band couldn’t swallow the music they were forced to play. By the time James was 18 the project had fallen apart.
Eight years have passed since then, and James has spent most of it out of the public eye, immersed in technology. Now, the scars of the pop music industry have faded, he has started recording songs in his home studio, and gigging acoustically in London.
Released via the internet in January 2006, Spread The News, All Is Well, Be Afraid is a four track EP, on which James plays every instrument, as well as engineering, producing, mixing, and mastering everything. A one-man-band attempt to prove that good music needn’t be expensive.”

Pretty chilled music, I’ll have to listen to the EP a few more times. Looks like he performs locally* pretty regularly, think I’ll head out and catch him live.
*well, somehow anything in London’s about an hour away, no matter where it is…
I’m that person who loves this song. Thanks for posting it.
