Mike Shinoda and Fort Minor Want You To Remix “Remember The Name”

March 31st, 2006 No Comments

The contest scene at CC:Mixter just won’t stop growing. Beginning with Wired Magazine in late 2004, and most recently closing a contest for placement in the upcoming film Copyright Criminals, the staff at CC:Mixter just keep lining up big name artists and high exposure placement for winning remix artists.

Day 90 : Lithium - Secret Girl

March 31st, 2006 4 Comments

This is another artist I can’t find much info about. I heart artists that provide good bio information, but I also heart lazy artists as well.
Lithium sounds like a plethora of bands from my misspent youth. Hollow charging drums and crunchy guitars. Someone is going to enjoy this.

Day 89 : Liquid Zen - Fire Below

March 30th, 2006 No Comments

Today’s selection is new music from Liquid Zen. This is a fantastic album, and you can listen to the whole thing on Magnatune.com before buying it (as you can with everything Magnatune has.. which is why they rock, and why we love them).

From Trifonic.com :
“Trifonic is a production team specializing in various styles of electronic music. We do breakbeat, […]

Day 87 : Swirl of Dust - Maya

March 28th, 2006 1 Comment

Any artist that lists Sigur Ros among their influences, I’ve just got to check out. Swirl of Dust is another Jamendo find, and another artist on which I can’t find much information in English.
SoD has angelic vocals and an epic sort of sound, like a mix between Bond and Enigma. Dramatic and very well […]

Day 86 : L’Onomatopeur - Slap Violin

March 27th, 2006 3 Comments

I can’t find a lot of info on this band in English (or really, in French either). I do dig this song though. The rest of this album, “Always Beating” is hit or miss, but this song really works for me.
So, kick off the week with a little bit of breakbeat.
Download this whole […]
