Day 167: Code-Noite de Carnaval

June 17th, 2006 by Biotic

In my mind, this is the best of breed from the Crammed Discs contest at ccmixter that closed late last month. It is a draw dropping take on the vocals placed on the site by Cibelle. I have played it a number of times on my radio program, Black Sweater, White Cat and love it to death.

The real beauty of these ccmixter contests is the amazing originality of the remixes. If you listen to Code’s use of Cibelle’s vocals you will hear that it sounds nothing like the original tune. Yet, there is an obvious kinship between the two pieces of music. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy just writing about it. You can listen to Cibelle’s original as it appears on her Crammed Disc release on her Myspace page. Compare the two and feel warm and fuzzy.
