Happy Independence Day to all of those readers who are of the American persuasion. It seems appropriate to have someone from the heart of America for today, so that’s what we’ll do. mr_melvis was involved with the Comfort Stand netlabel that is now an archive of surprising and unique music. On the first release from the label, Two Zombies Later, mr_melvis has a track on the second volume called A Walk Through The Powerhouse which is an infectious and somewhat industrious track that should have you tapping your toes and thinking of an old cartoon. mr_melvis has also produced a mature Comfort Stand release called Wakka Chikka Wakka Chikka which allowed artists to respond to the phrase in ways that seemed appropriate to them. A mysterious sonic presence, mr_melvis apparently is an IT guy during the day, plays in bars at night and for fun, he creates things in a home studio which could be somewhere in Ohio.
