Day 187: Musetta - Ophelia’s Song

July 6th, 2006 by teru

hi! teru here. I’ll be here from July 7th to 13th. I’m not the best writer but I can dance just as good as I walk. I hope you enjoy the music this week. : )

Musetta is Milan based duo, Matteo Curcio (producer) and Marinella Mastrosimone (lead vocals). Together they make really stylish downtempo music that has both a relaxing lounge quality as well as a touch of cinematic tension. Full previews are available at Musetta.co.uk . I highly recommend listening to more than this one track. Their upcoming self-release album will be great.

Ophelia’s Song is a “Laid back underground jazz club style track, beautiful sultry female vocals sit nicely over brushed drums and smooth bass to produce a rounded 1930s or graphic novel romance scene soundtrack. ”

Musetta has also made their source tracks available at ccMixter for remixing. Which makes them heroes to me.

Great opening song! I have loved this one since I found it on OPSOUND last year under the name of Pan. I was really excited to see that they had posted it up to ccMixter and plan to play cdk’s remix on Saturday night on BSWC.
