Hot off the presses from Birdsong I found Isuzu Kochiwa’s Disassembling the Molecules very stimulating. I like a bit of a departure now and then, and this will take you if you let it. There are 18 tracks on the release, each paying homage to a different painter. I must say, they are very well done, and it helps to be looking at the art while listening.

This track, “Kippenberg,” refers to the controversial German artist Martin Kippenberger who died at the age of 44 in March of 1997. This is one of my favorite tracks and also one of the popiest.
