I’m back! And I’m starting off strong with one of my favorites, R. Stevie Moore. “You Must Be Out of My Mind” was released into the commons on Tra La La La Phooey! - Comfortstand release 8 CSR008. I also like “But You Love Me, Daddy” “Say Man” “Why Am I Here?” “Technical Difficulty” and more. You Must Be Out Of My Mind was recorded October 6th 2002 (16 trk ADAT) in Nashville Tenessee- engineered by Billy Anderson. The background vocals are by Roger Ferguson, and wrap insert by Justin Hennessy.

“Tra La La La Phooey! is a mildly bewildering compilation that covers, quite literally, the breadth of R. Stevie Moore’s decades-long recording career, from a vocal performance by the nine-year-old Stevie at a session run by his Nashville studio-star father Bob Moore, and a freaky Mothers of Invention-like skewed pop song recorded in 1968 by a 16-year-old Stevie and his high school band, all the way through his years as the pioneer of the home recording underground.” — Stewart Mason (amg)

R. Stevie Moore has released LOTS of tapes over the years, and his site is pretty deep:

I am glad to see R. Stevie, who pioneered music exchange before the current era, featured on this site. I’m partial to his cover of “fletcher honorama”, or should I say I’m partial to anyone who covers that great song. This is a good day among many good days at 365–connecting with the roots of tape exchange and other pre CC ways of spreading the commons.
