Today I’m featuring Mount Erebus from the album Antarctica released by Simon Slator in 2003 and re-released under a Creative Commons license on Jamendo in March of 2006. This album has been called Simon Slator’s masterpiece. I tend to shy away from statements like that, but this is certainly a remarkable work. I have listened to Mount Erebus more times than I care to admit, and Antarctica is a wonderful ambient soundscape.
This piece is rich in hope and wonder, introspective and idealistic. Mt. Erebus is an active volcano in Antarctica, in fact the southernmost and most active. Be sure to download full album from Jamendo.
You can visit Simon’s music blog or the blog from the brain of Slator. Simon, after a about a year’s hiatus from music, is now actively creating and releasing again. If you get a chance be sure to download The Mosaic Effect (remastered)
This is subsystem7 of Black Sweater White Cat.
