Sticking with the same netlabel as Day 316, it is time I passed one of my all time favorites along. Philip Jackson’s version of Eden Ahbez’s “Nature Boy.” It came as track #4 on Comfortstand’s very first release, Two Zombies Later, Strange and unusual music from the exotica mailing list. Featuring dialog from the 1971 movie “Silent Running,” this song has an eerie post-apocolyptic beauty.
Nature Boy (Eden Ahbez)
There was a boy
A very strange, enchanted boy
They say he wandered very far
Very far, over land and sea
A little shy and sad of eye
But very wise was heAnd then one day,
One magic day he passed my way
While we spoke of many things
Fools and Kings
This he said to me
The greatest thing you’ll ever learn
Is just to love and be loved in return.
