If you haven’t experienced Bruce Lenkei, this will make you a convert. Three O’Clock Mother is a Black Sweater White Cat Favorite. I love this song, and this album is one of my favorite Comfortstand releases. Totally cool on a hot August night!

Go to Comfortstand and download Indolent Perambulation

Showing up on WM Recordings in January of 2005 with a release called First Contact, Happy Elf (Jeroen Elfferich) releases consistently excellent music. Jeroen is a multi instrumentalist hailing from the Netherlands and has been performing for the past 26 years in numerous genres (orchestral through fusion).

This track is just off the analogue synthesizer, from an album released July 31st 2006 - it can’t get much fresher than that. While listening make sure to scroll down on Happy Elf’s MySpace.com page in order to see the wacky avatars that move with the beat.

If you haven’t guessed already, WM Recordings is one of my (subsystem7’s) favorite places to get fresh tracks. Download this track or the entire album (my suggestion) from the WM048 Together release page.

I think it must be the steamy August weather we’re having in the Berkshires keeping my mind scrambled enough to have missed the past few days of posting. This track is perfect for the weather, chill and ultra smooth. Perfect song to kick off a long evening of concentrated work, just enough to calm your nerves and focus, not enough to dull the senses.

Centerpole (Philippe and Christian) released this track on Alpinechic ACMP1016, a fantastic release that Biotic and I have both pulled from for Black Sweater White Cat with tracks from freiraum, camp, and many other notables. I command you: Download acmp1016 immediately! (One song at a time unfortunately.)

Make sure to visit centerpole.ch and download their latest release, “Version0″

It is Reggae week at CC: 365. Try the Reggae tag at Jamendo. I did and found this group from the area of Saint-Avold en Moselle in France. Metisse has been active since 1998. This piece is from their Jamendo release, Jeunesse.

According to their bio, the band is inspired by the great names of Reggae, Marley, Burning Spear, Steel Pulse, Black Uhuru, The Gladiators, and others.

Yep. More reggae inspirations from the commons. Messian Dread is an absolutely prolific artist. He releases his music on Dubroom.com.

Messian Dread creates his music in The Dubroom, with a Windows PC, a 16 Track mixing table, and several instruments and effects like a bass guitar, melodica, conga, reverb, delay, and ofcourse, his voice. The music of his art is Roots. Roots Reggae with the emphasis on Dub. Most tracks he makes are Dubs. Where other modern Dub Creators choose ultra modern breakbeat rhythms, or cross the lines of reggae in another way, Messian tries to keep his music well within these boundaries. His ideal is to simulate the situation of the studios in which reggae originated and produce his music according to the same principals.

There is a huge archive of Messian Dread at archive.org. If you like this selection you might want to go and get the download.

As promised elsewhere: Polish Reggae

This song is from a self-titled release from Afterbeat records. Don’t know much more about Banda Tre except that the release has nine tunes and is posted under a creative commons license. I’m very fond of Banda Tre.
