Here I go again.

Another female vocalist from Paris. Justine Jefferson is truly marvelous and slightly mysterious. I downloaded this release from Jamendo in May and played at least two cuts on BSWC over the last couple months. However, in preparing for this post, I find that the release isn’t available at Jamendo. There is an artist page, but no release. Huh?

Likewise, I have very little information on Ms. Jefferson. I think she is 25 and began performing in 2002. There is very little to go on, but I felt that the CC365 community needed to hear this song.

From Archive.org:
“In an abandoned seaside town the women of the bordello wander out. Their punch-stained lips whistle whiskeyed melodies. Their limp boas leave a trail of old perfume. A cowboy, hidden in the shadow of his ten-gallon, sips sassafras soda, for which he has traveled a great mile. You make your way from the old hotel set back on the dunes, stopping first for a continental breakfast in the chandeliered ballroom. Hop on a sepia carousel. Bathe in the icy shore. Or just stroll along the crumbling boardwalk while echoes of Twizzle fill the summer air. “

I say, just listen.

I spent some quality Jamendo search time in the run-up to the BSWC Bastille Day show (well, we were one day late, but it is the thought that counts). Eva Garcia was a bright light shining through the trees. Love at first listen.

I don’t know much about her. She began her career in Paris in 2002 after arriving from the southwest of France. The Jamendo release is really quite lovely.

Fourstones aka Victor Stone from Berkeley, California makes whatever kind of music he damn well wants to. Sometimes we’re lucky enough to get to listen to it. : )

If you’ve been to ccMixter then you probably know of him, if you don’t well… I’m not telling, it’s fun watching newcomers aruge with Victor about sound quality. : 0

From La Vie Chill a groove soaked ambient chill album available at Magnatune.

Paul Blackford makes Electro, Breakbeat and Ambient music from the UK. I’ve selected an ambient piece which is the final track from his Latitude EP. A bit short but I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.

You can find him and other fine electronic artists at Audio Aubergine, “The Electronic Eggplant NetLabel”.

Kondencuotas Pienas aka Mantvydas Baranauskas is a student from Vilnius, Lithuania and he makes really sweet Atmospheric Drum and Bass. I wish I could post more than one song from him. He’s got many good ones.

You can find more music by him at net labels such as Mastik and Exegene.
